About Me

Fiene Leunissen has been a research scholar and teaching assistant for the Duke Art Law & Markets initiative (DALMI) research consortium since Spring 2015. After receiving her B.A. in Art History at the University of Utrecht in 2013, she enrolled in the Modern History (1500-2000) research master program, also at the University of Utrecht. There she focused on Art History and Economic & Social History. During her semester abroad at Duke University, she studied the artistic migration between Mechelen and Delft (1550-1625) under the supervision of Professor Hans van Miegroet. In her master’s thesis she explored the impact of Southern immigrants on the tapestry industry in Delft between 1574 and 1689.
