About Me

I am a historian of Modern Europe, focusing on French literary and garden/landscape history. I completed my PhD in History at the University of Memphis University in May 2021. Prior to that, I obtained a BA (with honors) in History from Christian Brothers University as well as a MA in History and a MA in French Language & Literature from the University of Memphis.

My dissertation, “Les jardins exotiques: Early French Romanticism and Its Impact on Travel Inspired Nineteenth-Century French Gardens”, is an environmental history of transatlantic botanical exchange in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that integrates scientific and literary historiographies.
