Stacy E. Holden focuses her research and teaching on the modern Middle East and North Africa as well as US engagement in the Arab world. She has written about ordinary life in Morocco and other places in the Arab world. She is currently researching Edith Wharton’s 1917 journey to Morocco. A literary biography and a diplomatic history, her book will appraise Wharton’s life through the prism of her support for Western interventions in the Arab world.
