- About Me
Hayden McDaniel received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi (2019) and is currently an Education Curator at the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Her dissertation research focused on post-World War II agricultural policy, specifically on changes to the southern peanut industry. Hayden is interested in southern politics, public history education, oral history, and civil rights. Her next project focuses on the life and activism of eminent civil rights lawyer, Orzell Billingsley, and the nexus of his work and Black rural landownership.
