About Me

I am a historian of the Canadian and American environment, editor, and digital communications strategist. I am an executive member, editor, and social media editor for the Network in Canadian History and Environment (NiCHE). I specialize in park history. I completed my PhD in History from the University of Saskatchewan in Spring 2019. My dissertation, “Middle Parks: State and Provincial Park Development in the United States and Canada, 1890-1990,” is a comparative history of state and provincial park development, focusing on the park systems of Pennsylvania, Ontario, Idaho, and Alberta. I am a passionate social justice advocate, and I focus on developing digital techniques and communications that bridge the divide between academia and the general public in order to democratize knowledge access.
