About Me

I am a historian of Early America, focusing on the political world, government institutions, and the Constitution. My goal is to produce history that speaks to my fellow scholars as well as a larger public audience. I believe history can be exhilarating and I want to share my passion with as many people as possible.

I am currently a historian at the White House Historical Association. I received my Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University.

My book, The Cabinet: George Washington and the Creation of an American Institution, will be published on April 7, 2020.
