Sara Khorshid’s doctoral dissertation studied Nasser-era Egyptians’ experience of decolonization as it unfolded on film. Prior to receiving her PhD and MA at Western University, Canada, she worked as a journalist and columnist in Egypt for 15 years, where she covered the 2010/2011 Arab Spring, human rights and the pro-democracy movement, and reactions to the 2002 Iraq war.
