Katy Menne joined the NC Maritime Museum at Southport as the Curator of Education in 2018. Prior to this position she has worked at numerous museums and an aquarium in South Carolina, as well as taught in traditional public school. She gained her BA in History from the University of South Carolina in 2015, then stayed to gain her Masters in Teaching Secondary Social Studies in 2016. She sits on the Brunswick Local Interagency Coordinating Council, is on the Planning Committee for Able Buddies, is part of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Teams for both Environmental Educators of NC and Southeastern Museum Conference, as well as on the Program Committee for NC Museum Council.
