- About Me
I am a Historian of Psychology and the current Social Media Director for the Psychology’s Feminist Voices project www.feministvoices.com ; a multimedia internet archive devoted to the women of psychology’s past and the diverse voices of contemporary feminist psychologists. I am a doctoral candidate (on leave) in the Historical, Theoretical, and Critical Studies of Psychology program at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and hold an MA and BA in Experimental Psychology from University of Central Oklahoma in the states. As a first generation, non-traditional, student it is important to me to note my pre-education business background in the commercial insurance industry. Experience which impacts my interest in and approaches to public history and history of science research. Currently my primary research is an in-depth study of the life and work of Psychologist Lillien J. Martin, 1910s-1940s applied gerontology within psychology, and the history of the first generation of women in psychological science in the United States between 1850 and 1950.
