About Me

I am an Assistant Professor of European Women’s and Gender History at the University of New Mexico. I am the co-founder and the Network Editor of the H-Net group, H-Emotions; the co-founder, Network Editor, and Board Member of the H-Net group, H-Black-Europe, as well as the co-founder and co-chair of the Black Diaspora Studies Network at the German Studies Association. I am also a Network Member of the Black Diaspora and Germany research network, based in Germany. I am working on a book entitled Both Black and German: Women and the Making of a Modern Movement, which analyzes the grassroots internationalist activism of Black Germans in the 1980s and 1990s.
