My name is Kara Brown and I have a Hons BA in History, MA in Public History and BEd Intermediate/Senior History and Geography from the University of Western Ontario.
I am the Graduate Program Coordinator in the Department of History at Western. I am responsible for the efficiency of the Graduate Program and serve as a resource person for the Graduate Chair, Graduate Committee, as well as for the Department, University and all external contacts. My administrative duties of the GPC include inquiries, admission procedures, internal, external awards and scholarships. I maintain all of the Masters and Doctoral student records, financial administration of application fees, Graduate Teaching Assistantship funding and submission of grades, course enrollment, organizing M.A. and Ph.D. Thesis Oral and Comprehensive Examinations. I am also responsible for maintaining and promote our department, faculty and students via our social media platforms – Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
