About Me

I’m a PhD with specialization in American musical theatre and film history and an author of a book “American stage and film musical in the mirror of grotesque” (2020). I finished my PhD studies at the Institute of English Studies, University of Warsaw, Poland. I hold two Master Degrees, in Cultural Studies and Theatre Studies, both from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland.
My research explores the history of American musical as a genre with particular emphasis on its development within the American popular culture. My research interests also concern the early 19th century American stage and musical forms, the history of Polish theatre as well as Polish musical films of the 1930s.
I’m a stipendist of Clifford & Mary Corbridge Trust Scholarship at Cambridge University, BAAS and The Eccles Center Postgraduate Award in North American Studies in London and JFK Institute Library Research Grant at Free University of Berlin. I also was a research intern at King’s College in London.
I’m an active participant of many national and international scientific conferences, an author of scientific articles and theatre reviews. I’m a member of Polish Society for Theatre Research (Warsaw) and The Centre for Research into Musical Theatre at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań).
