About Me

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in history at American University and the Historical Director for Utah women’s history non-profit Better Days 2020. My work at Better Days focuses on sharing Utah’s suffrage history with the public and contextualizing it in this year of the 19th Amendment centennial and the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act.

My dissertation focuses on Mormon women’s suffrage activism in the 1870s-1890s, focusing on the rhetoric of citizenship they employed to first defend and then regain their voting rights.
