About Me

I am a PhD Candidate at St. John’s University in Queens, NY focusing my attention on 19th c. History of Medicine and Medical Pedagogy related to the field of Anatomy.  I focus specifically on the evolution of Anatomy as an “umbrella field” into disparate subjects (e.g. Surgery and Pathology) in Ireland, and compare Irish medical education (in Dublin) to that of medical education offered in Great Britain and Scotland during the Georgian-Victorian period.
