Victoria L. (Vicky) McAlister completed her Ph.D. at Trinity College Dublin and is trained both as a historian and as an archaeologist. She is Associate Professor in the Department of History and Anthropology at Southeast Missouri State University. In 2019 she published The Irish Tower House: Society, Economy and Environment c. 1300-1650 with Manchester University Press. She is writing a book titled The Insular Globe: Environmental Change and Landscapes of Colonization, Ireland, 1000-1700 and directing an interdisciplinary digital project examining the modern landscape remnants of medieval vernacular settlement and land use.
