About Me

My background is in Classics and Jewish History, my specialization is Hellenistic Judaism. My particular interests include showcasing examples of women and power in the ancient Mediterranean that challenge gender meta-narratives concerning agency and authority, and how Jewish authors used Greco-Roman mythology as a conduit for political and cultural commentary. I take an inter-disciplinary approach to my work which includes literary, cultural historical, and feminist theories, as well as insight from art history and archaeology.
