- About Me
I am a historian of modern South Asia with a focus on gender, sexuality, women, reproductive politics, and colonialism. I am a scholar and activist committed to reproductive justice, and my teaching and research examine the history of abortion, contraception, reproductive health, and population control in India, in the US, and in transnational contexts. At the Ohio State University, I hold faculty appointments in History and in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My most recent publication is Reproductive Politics and the Making of Modern India (2021).
