I specialize in the literature, history and culture of the Greek and Roman worlds. Particular interests include gender, sexuality, and ancient women’s writing; the performing arts and the ancient sensorium; and the relationship between poetry and political power during the Roman Empire. I teach Classical Studies at Bard College.
