About Me

Keelin Burke is a historian with over ten years of research experience in historical archives. Her work currently focuses on questions of gender and politics in Ireland in the 1920s and 1930s. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Notre Dame, an MA in History from the University of Colorado, Denver, and at BA in History and English from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Keelin is currently Fellowship Manager at the Newberry Library, where she manages the Newberry’s extensive fellowship program, from publicity and website, to application and selection processes, and orientation and support of fellows. With her academic training, she also participates in the lively intellectual life of the Newberry and provide leadership within the Newberry’s community of scholars

In addition to her work with fellows, Keelin has hosted several episodes of Shelf Life, the Newberry Library’s podcast. She is also one of the co-coordinators of the Irish Studies Scholarly Seminar at the Newberry.
