Sophia Enriquez is a PhD student in ethnomusicology. Her dissertation project investigates Latinx music in Appalachia and notions of musical and cultural hybridity. Enriquez is a graduate teaching associate in the Ohio State University School of Music and currently serves as a Graduate Teaching Fellow through the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching. Enriquez holds a Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Folklore and is pursuing a graduate minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Enriquez also holds a bachelor degree in Music Education from West Virginia University. Enriquez enjoys performing traditional South American music with the OSU Andean Ensemble and performs locally in Columbus, Ohio as part of a female folk trio.
