I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland, College Park. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Anthropology from Florida State University, and my research focuses largely on slave resistance and memory in the United States. I am particularly interested in the commemoration of and response to varying methods of slave resistance in the antebellum U.S.
