About Me

Pollyanna Rhee is Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Environmental Humanities with the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an architectural and environmental historian with research interests in the history of the built and natural environments, environmentalism, and environmental governance particularly in the United States. Currently she is revising a manuscript for publication on the rise of conservative environmentalism in California. Her research has been supported by a number of institutions including the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the American Philosophical Society, and the Huntington Library. She has taught at California College of the Arts, Columbia University, and New York Institute of Technology. She received her PhD in History and Theory of Architecture at Columbia University.
