- About Me
MARIA DEL PILAR KALADEEN I am an Associate Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies specialising in the system of Indian indenture in Guyana (1838-1917). My monograph on colonial writing about indentured Indians in Guyana is forthcoming with Liverpool University Press. I recently co-edited the first international anthology on indenture in the British Empire.
I have a personal and scholarly interest in the experiences of descendants of indentured labourers who were also part of the Windrush generation of migrants to the UK from 1948-1971
