I am currently a Phd candidate at the University of New Mexico writing a dissertation on the history of the beach in the United States. Specifically I focus on the way that gender and race affected beach going and the creation of beach culture during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I am also the managing editor for the state historical journal, the New Mexico Historical Review.
