I am a PhD candidate at the Pennsylvania State University working under the direction of Dr. Lori Ginzberg in the dual-title PhD program with the Departments of History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My dissertation research focuses on constructions of respectability and criminality through an analysis of prison matrons and female prisoners.
