About Me

I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the School of History at the University of Leeds. I examine the intersection between the abortion procedure, the communist morality movement, and the urbanisation of Soviet Russia from 1944-1979. I investigate the role of physicians as unwilling participants of state power and how they negotiated this role. I particularly emphasise how citizens’ private decisions influenced the Soviet state’s public policies and projects.
