Namrata Ganneri teaches in the history department at S.N.D.T. College of Arts & S.C.B. College of Commerce and Science for Women, Mumbai since 2007. She completed her PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University with scholarships for post-graduate study as well as doctoral research. She has successfully completed major research projects awarded by the government as well as private institutional donors in India.
From 2018 to 2020, she is based at the Centre for Global Health Histories (CGHH), Department of History, University of York, UK as a Commonwealth -Rutherford Fellow. Her 23 month fellowship from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, is awarded to highly skilled researchers from Commonwealth countries for postdoctoral research. Her research at CGHH will examine the pilot programmes for smallpox eradication in the Indian state of Goa.
