- About Me
I am a historian of archaeology, with a focus on British archaeologists working during the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East (specifically Greece, Turkey, Palestine, Transjordan, Iraq, Egypt and Sudan). My interests lie in situating archaeology and archaeologists within wider historical contexts – including the history of education, women’s history, the history of tourism, the history of publishing and popular media, and the history of government policies.
