About Me

I received my Ph.D. in history from UC Berkeley, where I completed my dissertation “Politics of Change: The Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party and the Emergence of a Black Political Voice in Mississippi.” I taught for three years at SUNY Cortland, where I prepared secondary social studies teachers as well as taught courses in African American and United States History. Since 2013, I have led the UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project, which provides support to K-12 history teachers in the Bay Area and works to bridge the K-16 continuum.
