About Me

Melissa Gentry works at the Ball State University Libraries’ GIS Research and Map Collection: Maintains a collection of over 140,000 maps and cartographic resources; provides in-depth cartographic and geographic reference and research service; provides instructional sessions on using maps in research and learning. creates custom maps related to topics in history.  She  created over 40 custom maps depicting numerous topics in history to commemorate the Bicentennial of Indiana.  Gentry also created a set of biographical maps related to women’s history.  She has also coordinated special community art exhibits of maps created by Ball State University art students, and she gives community presentations about history using maps.
