About Me

I am an independent researcher and public historian who is currently employed as coordinator at the Dresher Center for the Humanities at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I received a B.S. from Bowie State University and an M.A. from UMBC.

My research and general life interests revolve around Blackness – Black music, Black literature, Blackness in popular culture, as well as Black women at the intersections of race, gender, and the law.

Outside of research, I a consumer of many books, television, films, comic books, podcasts and traveler to good eats and great museums.
