My work focuses on how our memories of the past are shaped, particularly in relation to the First World War. My book demonstrates how the narrative of the Christmas truce was formed over the past hundred years and how those changes reflected the myths that arose about the war. My latest research project explores how films about war shape – and are shaped by – our national narratives and myths.
