About Me

Maria H. Oen completed her PhD in Art History in 2015 (University of Oslo). Before joining The Swedish Institute in Rome as Deputy Director in 2019 she has been a Senior lecturer in art history at the Dept. of Culture and Aesthetics, Stockholm University, a Visiting Researcher (postdoctoral) at The Warburg Institute, London, and a Marie Curie Fellow at the Centre for Medieval Studies, Stockholm University. Oen’s research focuses on visual culture in Italy, c.1200-1550.
