- About Me
- I write, research, and teach about U.S. women’s and gender history, labor history, the South, oral history, and Appalachia. I am an assistant professor of history and southern studies at the University of Mississippi. And I am finishing a book on the history of women’s labor, caregiving, and activism in 1960s and 1970s Appalachia, To Live Here, You Have to Fight: How Women Led Appalachian Movements for Social Justice (University of Illinois Press, 2019). I am also a contributor at Rewire News.
