I am a current Ph.D. candidate at Boston University. My work focuses on the intersections of private philanthropy, public health, sexuality, and politics in the early twentieth century. A native Tennessean, I hold an A.B. degree in History from Harvard University (2001) and a M.A. in History from Middle Tennessee State University (2015). Before beginning graduate studies, I spent a decade as a professional development officer for Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union.
