About Me

I am a doctoral candidate in History at the University of Toronto. My working dissertation topic is lighthouses, sovereignty, and nation-making on the Canadian coastline. I’m looking at links between between federal bureaucracy and local knowledge, environmental nationalism, at how the federal state used light and sound to create an ordered and bordered coastal environment.

I’m excited to talk about space, landscapes, technology and the state in Canada. I like strong coffee and my cat.
