About Me

I completed a Phd at the University of Washington, Seattle with a dissertation tracing the gender and racial politics of early 20th c. NAACP activism. I have an interest in childhood history rooted in my research in children’s literature and eugenic-related activism within the NAACP.  My current research focuses on the politics of race and gender in 20th c. children’s books.
