I am a Senior Lecturer in Medieval History at the University of Edinburgh and was the founding director of its Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in 2008. I am the medieval editor for Manchester University Press’s Gender in History series and I am on the editorial board of Women’s History Review. I am also on the steering committee of the Gender and Medieval Studies group, which hosts an annual conference in the UK.
