- About Me
I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of History at McMaster University (expected completion: 2026-27 academic year). I earned my Master of Arts in History in 2020 and my Honours Bachelor of Arts in English & Cultural Studies and History in 2019, both from McMaster University. My doctoral research examines the function of public narratives and memorials related to General James Wolfe, the victor of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, and their role in informing perspectives of empire and identity from the beginning of the nineteenth century to 1939. As a figure closely associated with British and Canadian history, I explore how the memorialisation of Wolfe functioned as a vehicle for articulating Britain’s imperial relationships while also attempting to influence public attachments to imperial identities.
