About Me

I trained and worked as a public health physician specialized in tuberculosis control in the Netherlands before moving to Australia. There I worked in medical education before completing a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History and Art History. Back in the Netherlands I completed a Research Master Historical Studies at Radboud University, Nijmegen.

My current research focuses on 18th-century journals that were kept by ship’s surgeons employed by the Dutch East India Company (VOC).
