I am a researcher of history and women’s movements in Indonesia with a special interest in the history and movements of Malay women in the Sumatra region as well as the history and activities of the Islamic women’s movement in Indonesia. I am currently earning a doctoral degree in Islamic Civilization studies. My current project is writing an article on the history of the Malay women’s movement in Palembang during the Dutch colonial era and is also working on a book on the political activities of empowerment and emancipation of the Islamic women’s movement in South Sumatra during the Dutch colonial era.
