About Me

I am a Professor of History at Austin Community College where I teach both halves of the US survey courses and an Honors course on Modern Women’s history. My research focuses on American Nationalism from 1870-1920, especially considering the definition of “Americanism” and its intersection with the labor movement and radical movements. My most recent presentation was titled “‘The Most Dangerous Organization in Civil Life;’ Chicagoans react to Margaret Haley and the Chicago Teachers’ Federation, 1915” at the Organization of American Historians Annual Conference, Chicago, 2025.

I also have research and teaching experience in Native American history and Mexican American history.
