About Me

I am a historian interested in how bodies, gestures, and performances can illuminate the religious cultures of the past. My main research explores dance and Christianity from Late Antiquity to the Middle Ages, including the history of women performers and the connections between dance, ritual, illness, and social marginalization. I also study medieval manuscripts, canon law, and the cultural heritage of historic libraries, particularly the Cathedral Library of Verona. I teach and conduct research at the University of Bologna (Ravenna Campus).
