About Me

I am a doctoral candidate in History at the University of Oxford, writing a dissertation titled, “The Man, The Military, and The Evangelical: Exploring the Impacts of the Vietnam War on Conservative American Evangelical Masculinity.” I received a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Regent College, where I specialized in the History of Christianity. My master’s thesis was titled, “A Caricature of Christ: The Image of Jesus in American Muscular Christianity 1880-1920.” Previously, I have taught courses on the historical and contemporary intersections of Christianity, gender, and race. My research interests lie at the intersections of gender, race, and American Evangelicalism. The rise of the religious right, the politicization of evangelicals, and how gender plays a role in these conversations are of particular interest to me.
