Hi!
My name is Emily Kissel, and I am working on my Master’s in History degree at Central Washington University. I study United States’ foreign policy in the 20th century and Cold War relations. I am specifically researching the diplomacy surrounding the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan during the Carter and Reagan Administrations. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History and Social Studies Secondary Education. I am currently the youngest in my male-dominated program but am constantly supported by my female-dominated department faculty. I want to help raise women’s status and voices in the field of history.
