About Me

Julia Friedman is a recent graduate of California State University, San Marcos’ History MA program.  Her thesis is a comparative study of Jewish and secular feminist magazines during the second wave of feminism in the United States and their responses to antisemitism.  Julia has also worked in the public history field for ten years and has experience in collections management, oral history, and curation.  Most notably, she curated the exhibit, Rockin’ the Political Boat: Women of the Second Wave, while working as Collections Manager at the Women’s Museum of California in 2016.  Julia’s areas of research include women’s history, Jewish history, media studies, and LGBTQ+ history.
