About Me

PhD in History, Associate Professor of Latin American History at CY Cergy Paris Université and researcher at the AGORA Laboratory (EA7392).

My research focuses on the history of women in Bolivia and Latin America from a transnational perspective (20th-20th centuries). I am particularly interested in the history of women’s access to citizenship and to the public and political spheres. My research themes focus in particular on women’s mobilization (through feminist, labor and trade union movements, Catholic and Protestant women’s associations…) and on women’s politicization, the role they play in political parties and bodies.

In 2017, I published a book entitled Mouvement féministe et droit de vote en Bolivie (1920-1952) (Teseo Press, Buenos Aires). I also published several articles on: the transnational feminist movement on the American continent in the 1930s; the impact of the Chaco War (1932-1935) on the lives of urban women in Bolivia; relations between women and feminists in Argentina and Bolivia during the Chaco War; and the emergence and development of the feminist movement in Bolivia in the first half of the 20th century.

Part of my academic training took place at American universities: Columbia University in New York (exchange student, 2010); Duke University (visiting scholar, 2014).

My PhD dissertation, defended in December 2018 at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, entitled “Women in the public sphere in Bolivia from the end of the Chaco War to the National Revolution (1935-1952)” is being revised for publication.
