- About Me
I am teaching Early Modern History as a Full Professor at Marburg University in Germany. My research interest are centered on political culture and communication with a strong focus on gender aspects. After working on historical self-images and their political functionalisation in early modern Sweden in my PhD-thesis (“Gothicism”), I turned to domestic conflict and peace narratives. I conducted a research-Project on “House, Gender and (in)Security” at the Collaborative Research Center “Dynamics of Security” (https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/sfb138) and wrote on gender aspects of (domestic) security as well as spatial aspects of “house” and “street” as spaces of security.
Currently, I am working on a DH-project, setting up a database of the correspondences of the Hessian Landgravinnes from 16th- 18th-century and their international writing partners.
