About Me

Rebecca Bradshaw is an Affiliated Scholar at the University of Cambridge’s MacDonald Institute for Archaeological Research. She is also Academic Affiliate with the University of Michigan, for whom she is a Co-Director of Community Engagement for the Jebel Barkal Archaeological Project (2020-present). She has previously held positions as Assistant Professor at United Arab Emirates University (2021-23) and Co-Director of Community Engagement for UCL Qatar/British Institute in Eastern Africa (2015-19), alongside conducting consultancy work in conflict research for the US Department of State and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Rebecca has lived and worked in Sudan, Egypt and Iraq, also writing for news outlets such as Al-Monitor and presenting historical documentaries for National Geographic and others. She is now based between Cambridge and London, UK.
