- About Me
Tianna Mobley received her BA in History with minors in African American Studies and Jewish civilization from Georgetown University in 2020. Tianna is currently a graduate student at Georgetown University pursuing her MA in the Global, International, and Comparative History program. Her capstone focused on race and legal history in sixteenth-century Cartagena de Indias. She is currently a PhD student in History at Yale University focusing on early modern Latin America and the Caribbean.
Additionally, Tianna is the host of a history podcast called, “Untold Histories of the Atlantic World.” Initially created as a project with Humanity In Action, this podcast presents academic research with an activist slant. It brings to the foreground previously overlooked or oversimplified histories of African and Indigenous experiences throughout the Atlantic world. The podcast addressesthe underrepresentation of subaltern voices in the telling of Atlantic history. Tianna invites scholars and activists to share their research, why these histories resonate with them personally, and how they impact public discourse on topics such as indigenous rights, racism, social justice, gentrification, and immigration. If you are interested in being interviewed as a podcast guest, please feel free to connect.
